From the very beginning, our goal was – and still is today – to partner with our transportation insurance customers and to learn as much about their business as we know about our own.
Who We Are
September 1, 1983
The beginning of a long term success story… Donald and Bonnie Sullivan opened an insurance agency by the name of Administrative Safety Services, Inc. in Roseville, Minnesota with their first employee being their daughter, Lisa (Sullivan) Burnside. The vision then was to be a comprehensive company supplying insurance and related services to the public.
1984
Donald and Bonnie changed the focus of the agency from general insurance to insuring the transportation industry. They made this commitment due to the complexity of the transportation industry and its special insuring needs. Over the next few years, the agency released accounts that did not fall under the category, yet grew significantly in the number and size of accounts written. To assist in this endeavor, their son, Shawn Sullivan, joined them as a valuable salesperson.
1987
Michael O’Neil, the Sullivan’s nephew, joined Shawn as a salesperson and their daughter, Kimberly (Sullivan) Schwartz joined the agency to provide profitable financial results.
October 26, 1989
The agency name was changed to Minnesota Truck Writers, Inc. This provided a better understanding of the agency’s unique focus on providing transportation insurance.
1996
The Sullivan family purchased Ringnell Insurance in Welcome, Minnesota to better serve the transportation industry. This agency is now called Administrative Risk Consultants, Inc. DBA: Truck Writers. The two agencies share a focus on the transportation industry by providing quality services.
2000
Minnesota Truck Writers, Inc began doing business as Truck Writers as the agency started providing trucking insurance solutions across the nation.
Today
Shawn Sullivan and Michael O’Neil continue to run Truck Writers. They have also brought the third generation into the business.
